Mohammed Abbas is an entrepreneurship and innovation mentor with over 20 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs in Egypt and beyond. A co-founder of NilePreneurs Initiative in 2017 and the founder of NP INCUBATE, Mohammed has played a pivotal role in fostering Egypt’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He previously served as the Associate Director and Head of the Business Incubators Program at NilePreneurs, IECC, Nile University.
In addition to his consultancy work, Mohammed is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the School of Engineering, Nile University. He holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Management of Technology (MOT), with research focused on the personal traits influencing the success or failure of Egyptian entrepreneurs. His dedication to entrepreneurial education, incubation, and startup acceleration has made him a key player in shaping Egypt’s startup landscape.
Beyond academia, Mohammed has held leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. He served as Operations Director at KD Group, overseeing multiple ventures in conference management, angel investment, and marketing. Earlier in his career, he founded the Entrepreneurship Unit at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2012, leading efforts to support 13 industrial technology centers and fostering innovation-driven economic growth.
An alumnus of the Professional Fellowship Program (PFP) funded by the U.S. State Department, Mohammed worked as a fellow at George Washington University’s Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE), focusing on strategic partnerships and student entrepreneurial programs.
Over the years, he has mentored over 1,000 entrepreneurs, startups, and organizations, guiding them in business modeling, incubation strategies, system development, and investor matchmaking. With his vast experience spanning government, private sector, NGOs, and academia, Mohammed brings a unique and holistic perspective to supporting entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into thriving businesses.
